WANOKOKYU-01 月影の塔（Moonlight Tower）
月影の塔 Moonlight Tower
Moonlight Tower: Beautiful light even in the shadows created by washi paper
When illuminated for the first time, the atmosphere of the room softened as if time itself slowed. “Moonlight Tower” is named for the gentle shadows formed by the natural texture of Japanese washi, and the soft light that expands quietly into the surrounding space. Harnessing the intrinsic qualities of traditional washi, this piece produces both a warm glow and striking shadow play; the delicate fibers of the paper reveal their full character through the presence of light. More than a lighting fixture, this work is an art piece that transforms with the passage of time—altering the mood of the space and bringing both calm and emotional depth. During the day, the subtle texture of the paper blends with natural daylight, offering a serene presence; at night, soft illumination creates poetic and dreamlike shadows that turn ordinary moments into special ones.
This object is more than just a light fixture; it is an art piece that changes the expression of the space as time passes, bringing peace and emotion to the soul. During the day, the delicate texture of the washi paper creates a gentle presence in the natural light, and at night, the soft light creates a fantastical shadow, creating a special moment.
