A sculptural floor light with soft white hues
ochō is a sculptural washi floor lamp inspired by the graceful form of a butterfly orchid, wrapped in soft white tonal gradients. When illuminated, each lattice cell glows like a delicate wing, creating a subtle expansion of light from within.
The light source is a bulb-shaped LED designed to minimise glare. The light diffuses along the fibres of the washi paper, bringing out the three-dimensional texture of its surface. By deliberately avoiding a perfectly uniform grid pattern, a subtle irregularity characteristic of handcrafted work is created; the way the impression changes depending on the viewing angle and distance is part of the pleasure of this lamp.
Suitable for living room corners, hotel lounge displays, and entrance niches, Kochō lends purity and refined warmth to both Japanese and modern interiors. By day it stands with sculptural dignity; by night its delicate shadow play welcomes guests, offering an ambient sense of hospitality.
