Old Castle – A warm stone-like texture that quietly reflects the passage of time
Its rugged yet orderly lattice evokes the stone walls weathered by centuries. Multiple layers of washi overlap, and the subtle variations in tone—left intentionally like traces of erosion—create a patina of age. When illuminated, soft light pools into the surface undulations, holding warmth like a castle bathed in the setting sun. Quiet in impression yet richly expressive up close, “Old Castle” offers both dignity and human warmth within its presence.
The lamp uses a low-glare linear LED. The fibers of the washi gently release the light, forming calm gradations of shadow on the surrounding surfaces and adding depth to the space. By day, it stands with sculptural composure; by night, each cell glows softly as if breathing, evoking the slow passage of time—its true allure.
